OK - since the stoke is officially kicked off with the release of Powder Whore's new film from 2007/8, the Pact. I am committing to updating this blog. It has been an absolutely wild summer. So much has happened and I hope to post about most of it. In short, my competitive season last year was rough. I was skiing stronger and more technical than before, but every single competitive run I did, I fell and tumbled. It was really disappointing, and thus is why I haven't posted in a long time. My free skiing was great. More powder days were had this past season than my life, cumulative. It was fantastic. It did nearly end when I was hitting the park on a icy, hard-pack day and I cracked my pelvis. This didn't stop me from skiing, but I did have to lock the heel down for any more turns. I am glad I was still able to make Pear Lake Ski Hut for the last weekend it was open last season. That trip really capped off my season - it is a beautiful place.
Off piste I have been having a blast - lots of visiting of family and friends, white water rafting, weddings to attend, weddings I could not attend, Yosemite and half dome, mountain biking with my sister, learning to roll a kayak, moonlit kayaking, kayaking in the surf zone, rock climbing in colorado, trips to wine country, coachella, learning to wind surf, and of course the Leard Reunion.
The reunion was a real treat this year with larger attendance than ever before. We rented 9 condo's along the western shore of Lake Eire. The weather was great, water skiing was fantastic, and playing with all the kids was a true delight. Awesome summer.
check back soon for updates!
