September was lots of fun. I went to the Chicago Heavy Weight Championships for Ultimate in Chicago. It was a great weekend with many of the original LeadBelly players and a chance to reunite with many Columbus players. Photos from that fun filled weekend should be available soon.
I spent some some on the beach in SF on a beautiful city day, and went mountain biking with my sister for her 29th Birthday. Happy Birthday Kim!!

The following weekend found me back in Tahoe basin climbing with Nick and friends for his 28th Birthday. Calaveras Dome was fantastic! I can't wait to go back.

Then my buddy Scott came in from Colorado. We traveled down to Santa Cruz to go surfing and mountain biking. Pretty awesome to have great biking and wave riding in the same spot! We got a little rain while we were there, but we were in the water already and the sun came out soon to warm us all back up. No worries! The weather was great every day. We biked till dark two nights and spent three days paddling in the Pacific. Here is a photo of Scott in front of Jack O'neill's house.

The story of Jack O'neill is a good one. Sadly, a man passed away while surfing at "the hook" just before we got there. I learned about this after our weekend. RIP Mike Green.
Scott and I would surf the first part of the day, then ride our bikes in the evening. Bral and Stefan joined us for riding at Demonstration Forest on Saturday. There was a little rain in the SC Mountains, but it was still a tonne of fun! I'm totally going back there! However, pedaling after Scott for two days in a row was too much for me. I totally bonked on the ride out of Demo Forest and barely made it back to the car. Luckily - there was cold beer and some food to wake me back up! Check out some of the photos from our trip! We hope to rent a beach house and get a gang of folks to come play next year!
