Mt.Stevens done right, Feb19th.

It was a perfect blue bird day. It was warm enough to hike in a Tshirt, cool enough to keep the snow dry, no wind to chill or move the snow, and not a cloud in the sky. I set off with John, Yu, Steve, Terry, and Mingus for Mt.Stevens. We made our way to the bowl and found it pristine - not a track had been laid. Steve was hesitant, so Yu, Mingus, and I headed to the summit, then to the main chute. The snowpack was solid, but since the angle was so steep, we decided to try our avalungs. They worked great - I even forgot I had it in my mouth until I tried talking to John at the bottom of the run. Here is a photo after Yu and I laid our tracks. Mingus followed directly in Yu's tracks.

Yu even caught my run on his little camera. Thanks for posting this Yu!

We went on to ski some great lines in the cirque behind (north) of the peak. We were all very excited about the sheer number of potentially great lines back there. We will visit again! See photos of the terrain on Yu's SmugMug account.
