Low snow conditions persist in the Tahoe Basin, and Kirkwood is no exception. There are so many rocks exposed on the upper section of the mountain it looks like a cheese grater. Despite the gnarly conditions, it was an easy ski weekend for me. I took my special lady friend, Katharina, to learn how to ski. Katharina has been on a 6 year hiatus from skiing, and had never taken a lesson. My Sista Kim, was kind enough to spend most of the day giving Katharina lessons. Katharina showed great improvement on Saturday. Sunday, Kim was replaced with Sebastian, and we all spent the day jumping off of small jumps until Katharina cased a serious whoop-dee-d00.
